St John's High School, Hinganghat is an English Medium school run by Society of sisters of St. John. It's Patron saint is St. John the Baptist, the forerunner of the Great Guru Jesus Christ.

Vision statement
We aim at bringing out the best in every student through a sound, physical, emotional, intellectual, moral, social, cultural, and spiritual formation. We instill in them the spirit of patriotism and prepare them to live as responsible citizens.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide a joyful learning environment to every child that empowers children to reach their educational and personal potential while nurturing their self-confidence and selfesteem upholding moral values and promoting individual aptitude and life skills through inspirational reading , creative writing and aesthetic skills .

It is the character formed by practice of certain values which makes every St. John's student aware of justice and gives him/her courage to live for the truth.
We work to maintain academic excellence in and through curricular activities. We instill in them the spirit of patriotism and prepare them to live as responsible citizens. The society cooperates with other like minded agencies, be the government or otherwise, to develop healthy, God fearing personalities and leaders, through the process of Human Resource Development.

HOME STUDY AND PARENTAL CO-OPERATION

Parents are requested to see that their children do their homework by themselves. It is important that the children develop a habit of study and work on their own. Parents should check all the notebooks of their children periodically and make sure that their written work in all subject is up-to-date. Parents should see that their children put in adequate hours of study at home. Apart from taking helpful interests in the academic work of school, Parents must also encourage their children to take part in all activities organized for the benefit of the children. Criticism of a teacher should be avoided in the presence of child because it undermines his/her respect for the teacher. If you have a legitimate complaint, please bring to the notice of the principal. Any such complaint made to her will be most welcome as this would help in the better functioning of the school. Parents are requested to pay personal attention to the cleanliness of their children specially to attend the school in the prescribed uniform.

TIPS FOR THE CHILDREN

  • Remember that study is your first duty as a student. Do not neglect your homeworks and assignments.
  • Be God fearing, take care never to offend God.
  • Be always friendly with others both in and out of school.
  • Observe good manners and etiquette everywhere.
  • Never make fun of the old and the poor.
  • Avoid vulgar talk and offensive behavior, never call anybody by bad names.
  • Lend a helping hand to the needy.
  • Never waste time. Time is precious. Use it well.
  • Do your daily lessons. Do not leave anything until the times of examination.
  • Draw up a study time table with the help of your teachers or parents for your home study.
  • Take corrections from your parents and teachers in a cheerful manner.
  • Inculcate in yourselves civil responsibilities and try to fulfill them.
  • Grow up into a proud citizen of our country.
  • Remind yourself of your duties to God. Prayer will bring him nearer to you and help you in your need.
  • Do not be noisy and quarrelsome, but try to be cheerful and polite.
